NFL KNEELING PROTEST

NFL KNEELING PROTEST

Who will be penalized for expressing the first amendment rights to freedom of speech whether it be silent or vocal? As American citizens we have a right to freedom of speech .Why is it such a big deal for people to kneel for the right to equality? It all started when Colin Kaepernik felt it was just to kneel during the National Anthem to honor the many African American men ,and women who have been murdered ,and brutalized to the hands of law enforcement officer’s who’s sole job is to serve, and protect ALL. On Aug 14 ,and Aug 20 2016 Kolin first started sitting during the anthem. At first it went un-noticed but, later that night the 49ers released released a statement confirming that Kaepernik sat during the national anthem. Since then there has been an ongoing support from other player’s ,and teams from high school on up. The sole reason for this silent protest is to show the world that people are tired of watching the video’s of minority groups being oppressed by the very one’s who swore to protect them. Two day’s later Kaepernik finally spoke out publicly since gaining national attention by saying, He wanted to give a voice to those who didnt have one.He also stated that he would continue to do so until fair, and equal treatment was given to all . Since then the Nfl has been riddled with teams kneeling in support of this just cause. If you watch the NFL on sundays you will notice that most players ,and teams are no longer standing with their hand hands covering their hearts but, kneeling. As you can imagine there are many people protesting the NFL due to the silent protest. My question is why? When your at home on your couch ,beer in hand, relaxing most people remain sitting for the anthem soo, why does it matter who kneels, or stands during the anthem? I guess we will have to see how it all turns out in the near future.
